    Rank Math free

    Hi there,

I’ve setup Rankmath on my website and I really like what I’ve about the features of the seo tools and the review, I’m considering a paid subscription.

However, upon setting up Rankmath I notice that all my meta description on the site is missing, I’ve read through the site and I thought I have done everything right and Rank Math should intelligent enough to generate a meta description and not totally removing it.

I’ve been using Framework SEO before and I never had issue with missing all my meta descriptions.

Appreciate that you could help to resolve the issue, otherwise we will probably have to give Rankmath to miss it’s just bit hard to use.

    Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I checked your website URL and you have indeed a meta description missing.

Can you please check if this isn’t done by another plugin causing conflict with Rank Math?

To determine that, please follow this handy troubleshooting guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, please let us know and we will further investigate.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi Jeremy,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

I’ve run through the troubleshooting guide and I’m having the problem at step 1 A, there site still doesn’t meta description when all the plugins were disabled.

When exsited the troubleshooting mode and run the website normally I tried reactivate Framework SEO and disable RankMath, the meta description appears!

I really like to give Rankmath ago, if you can help me to resolve the issue, I don’t mind giving you access to the site if you need to.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for keeping in touch with us.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hi Jeromy,

I just tried to manually insert the excerpt for a post > https://redappleearlylearning.com/interview-with-red-apple-vermont-educator-nasrin-loni/
the meta description appear but not on all other page.

Do you have to have excerpt for all the post? we don’t usually have excerpt and does that mean we have to manually put in all the meta description? we have a lot of posts and pages. That will not be good solution.

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up, and sorry for the delay.

I’ve tried checking your site, but I’m unable to find the posts with missing meta descriptions. If you’re using the %excerpt% variable in the meta description, it will pick up the first 160 characters on your content. Here’s a screencast for your reference:

If the issue still persists, could you also provide the affected URLs where the meta description is not showing? You can also add your WordPress logins in the designated sensitive data section.

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
