  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the "Missing field ‘name’ (in ‘author’)" errors in Google Search Console. Thank you for providing the details and screenshots.

This error typically indicates that the author information is not being properly populated in the Schema markup for your posts. Since you have already enabled the Author option in Rank Math settings, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check Author Settings: Ensure that each post has an assigned author. You can do this by editing the post in WordPress and checking the author settings on the right side of the editor.

    2. Update Posts: Sometimes, simply updating the posts can help regenerate the Schema markup. Try making a small change to the posts and then update them.

    3. Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear your website cache to ensure that the latest changes are reflected.

    4. Schema Testing Tool: Use the Google Structured Data Testing Tool to check if the author information is being included in the Schema markup after making these changes.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to resolving this for you!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you please confirm if you’re using the WooCommerce Product schema on your pages? If so, you can try to delete and add it again and see if that works for you.

If the issue persists, then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    Hello,

Sorry for the delay. Somehow, your ticket was marked as “pending for moderation” which is why we haven’t seen the replies. We have gone ahead and approved this ticket.

Back to your issues and concerns.

Also I see that we have in GSC 2 category sitemaps. Do we need both of them? Or which one should we delete?

    1) https://www.zgruzie.cz/category-sitemap.xml
    2) https://www.zgruzie.cz/product_cat-sitemap.xml

These two sitemaps are different sitemaps. The first one was meant for the category pages of your regular posts (article) and the second sitemap is for your product’s.

I tried tu regenerate product sitemap, but did not help I think. Once I run check in GSC it pops-up error again.

We checked the affected page in the Rich Result test but we don’t see the missing field “name” error anymore.

Please clear your website caches and your GSC, please click on the “VALIDATE FIX” button so Google can recrawl the page and update the reporting.

    Looking forward to helping you.
