  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with your impressions and clicks after migrating from Yoast to Rank Math. It’s not uncommon to experience fluctuations in search performance during or shortly after a migration due to various factors, including changes in SEO settings or indexing delays.

Here are a few steps you can take to help improve your situation:

    1. Check Your Settings: Ensure that all your SEO settings have been correctly configured in Rank Math. Unlike Yoast, Rank Math may not automatically import all settings, so you might need to manually adjust them.

    2. Recalculate SEO Scores: If you imported data from Yoast, make sure to recalculate the SEO scores for your posts. This can be done through the Rank Math dashboard.

    3. Submit Sitemap: Make sure your sitemap is submitted to Google Search Console. Rank Math generates a new sitemap, and submitting it can help Google re-index your site more effectively.

    4. Monitor Indexing Status: Check Google Search Console for any indexing issues or errors that may have arisen during the migration.

    5. Content Optimization: Utilize Rank Math’s Content AI feature to optimize your content further, ensuring it meets SEO best practices.

If the problem persists, we recommend replying to your ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further with your specific situation.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.

Sorry for the experience you had while using the plugin. We will try our level best to help you get to the bottom of this.

There are a few things you have to keep in mind when using any SEO plugin, not just Rank Math.

    1. An SEO plugin alone cannot bring down or bring up the traffic in a day (or even a few days) unless incorrect Meta Tags are used by setting up the plugin improperly. That’s why we have a detailed tutorial on that: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-setup/

    2. All the SEO plugins add Meta tags for the search engines which can be checked by viewing the source of a page. For instance, here: view-source:https://rankmath.com/

Other popular plugins generate similar tags: https://i.rankmath.com/n94KyH

And with the Rank Math plugin, additional tags are added to a page so search engines can understand the content on a website better.

    3. Google brings a new algorithmic update several times a month and the chances are great that your website got hit by that. There was an unconfirmed Google Local Ranking Update between January 5 and 6, 2025 which affected the ranking of some blogs: https://rankmath.com/google-update/unconfirmed-local-update-jan-2025/

We have a full guide on how to recover from such update: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/

So, to start we would recommend a complete SEO audit by following the steps here: https://rankmath.com/blog/seo-audit/

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
