    Rank Math free

    Hi,

I have a few questions I’d love some help with:

    1. What should we expect if we move away from using the Rankmath plugin?
    2. Where do the redirects go?
    3. Do we lose all our SEO? Everything that’s embedded?

    Thank you!
    Laura

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing regarding your migration from Rank Math. Thank you for raising your concerns. Here’s what you can expect when moving away from the Rank Math plugin:

    1. SEO Impacts Due to Migration: When you migrate from Rank Math to another SEO plugin, you should be aware that certain features and settings will not be transferred. For instance, your existing Schema Markup will be removed, which is crucial for SEO as it helps improve your website’s visibility in search results. Additionally, any redirections you have set up in Rank Math will not work after the migration, potentially leading to broken links or loss of traffic.

    2. Redirects: If you have configured redirects using Rank Math, these will not be ported over to the new plugin. This means that users and search engines may encounter 404 errors if they try to access URLs that were previously redirected. You will need to set up these redirects manually in the new plugin to ensure users are directed to the correct pages.

    3. Loss of SEO Settings: Yes, you may lose some of your SEO settings and optimizations when migrating away from Rank Math. The new plugin will not import your Rank Math settings, so you will need to manually configure important settings like Sitemap settings and Image SEO to maintain your search engine rankings.

For more detailed information on the migration process and its implications, you can refer to our guide on migrating from Rank Math or migrating to SEOPress.

Hi, the rankbot did not cover if the settings retained when plugin is removed. Do we lose Keyword optimization for each blog post if we use an alternate SEO optimizer?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your questions. We are sorry to learn you intend to migrate from us.

Since your content doesn’t change without Rank Math, you will not lose keyword optimizations of your posts/pages since the tool only guides you on drafting your content according to global SEO best practices.

While you won’t lose your actual content, you may lose the SEO optimizations and metadata managed by Rank Math.

Some SEO plugins allow importing data from other SEO tools. Check if your new SEO optimizer supports importing settings from Rank Math.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ike,

Thanks so much for your thorough response.

Can you specify what you mean by the SEO optimizations and metadata we may lose, aside from key word optimization?

    Hi Ike,

I’ve received a few other follow-up questions from my employer:

    – Is SEO related data entries into each post/page retained?
    – Does the Yoast captured the RankMath keyword, meta description, etc when we start utilizing their plugin?  Any tips from support?
    – Is there a risk of redundant SEO entries for keyword, meta , etc when migrating SEO plugin platforms?

    Thanks so much.

    Hello,

If you are switching to another SEO implementation you can import the metadata from our plugin into others such as Yoast SEO. That will make sure that every entry you had on the posts/pages will remain the same and the metadata generation will happen exactly the same way.

Yoast SEO also includes a tutorial on how to migrate from our plugin to theirs: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-migrate-from-rank-math-to-yoast-seo/

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,
