Meta titles are not being displayed in AMP posts

    Rank Math free

I am using RankMath together with the Newspaper theme. I had been using the AMP (https://wordpress.org/plugins/amp/) without any issues but recently meta titles on AMP posts stopped appearing, even though I did not make any changes. I searched for this specific issue on google and here as well and tried all possible fixes (deactivating/removing amp plugin, also deactivating AMP support on the RankMath dashboard) but it did not help. When I disable AMP on the RankMath dashboard then I get back the titles on AMP posts but then meta descriptions are disappearing. Also tried enabling the Rewrite Titles option in Dashboard >> Rank Math >> Titles & Meta >> Global Meta >> Rewrite Title option to show the title, but this did not help too.

This is the same issue from someone else: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/semrush-amp-page-title/

I would appreciate it if you could check and help me with fixing this.

    Thank you!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I checked both the links you shared and I can note that the title meta is missing in your amp version of the page.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello Jeremy,

I am sharing the credentials in the Sensitive Data field.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Thank you for the update, and apologies for the delay.

I’ve checked your site using the Health Check plugin enabling only your theme, Rank Math, and AMP. The <title> tag was shown upon doing so, resulting in a plugin conflict. I’ve attached a screencast in the sensitive data section.

However, it seems that your other plugins are not working with the troubleshooting mode. In this case, you may need to deactivate your plugins one by one to find the culprit.

You can also use this tool to check your meta title:
    https://smallseotools.com/meta-tags-analyzer/

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Hello Reinelle,

That is right, I also checked it using the Health Check plugin, and <title> is there but <meta name=”description” is not there, could you please check again?

Please keep in mind that once you activate RankMath in the Health Check plugin, then the AMP support is being disabled in the RankMath dashboard.

    I have mentioned this above:
“When I disable AMP on the RankMath dashboard then I get back the titles on AMP posts but then meta descriptions are disappearing.”

btw, I rolled back to the RankMath Version 1.0.61.1 to check, since everything was working well before updates.

After rolling back to the previous version, I confirm that The <title> and also <meta name=”description”>shown upon in the Health Check troubleshooting mode. So it seems you broke something in the last update.

Sorry for the too many messages but I am still not sure about this, it does not work:

I have also reported this to the AMP team:

I am just trying to find out what is causing this issue; RankMath or AMP. I do not think other plugins causing it.

I just switched to another Accelerated Mobile Pages plugin, and I do not have any issues with it. Thanks for your efforts!

Thank you for keeping in touch with us and we deeply apologize for the unexpected delays.

I am glad that the issue has been resolved by switching to another AMP plugin.

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else. Thank you
