Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s meta tags not appearing in search engine results pages. There are several reasons why Google might not be using the meta tags you have set:
-
Relevance and Quality: If the meta description is not relevant, useful, or lacks quality (for example, if it’s just a collection of keywords), Google may choose not to display it.
-
Duplicate Meta Descriptions: If the exact same meta description is provided across a large number of pages, Google may ignore them to avoid redundancy.
-
Search Intent: Sometimes, the meta description doesn’t match what users are searching for, but other content on the page does. In such cases, Google may opt to show snippets from the page content that better match the search intent.
-
Caching Issues: If the latest version of your page hasn’t been indexed yet, it might still be showing an older version without your updated meta tags. You can check this by entering cache: followed by your URL in the search bar to see when Google last cached your page.

-
Google’s Discretion: Ultimately, Google sometimes chooses to display different titles and descriptions based on what it believes is most relevant to the search query, which can be outside of your control.
To address this issue, ensure that your meta tags are unique, relevant, and of high quality. Additionally, you may want to check if there are any caching plugins or settings that could be affecting how your site is indexed.
If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

Google Shows A Different Meta Title/Description For My Site » Rank Math
Hello,
The issue here is you may have accidentally set the max-snippet robots meta tag to 1.
You can also view the source of your homepage and will notice it in line 14:
meta name="robots" content="follow, index, max-snippet:1, max-video-preview:1, max-image-preview:large"/
The max snippet is the maximum amount of characters to show for your description, and the value of -1 (set by default) means unlimited and let Google handle that on its own.
To fix this, head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Global Meta and set the Advanced Robots meta to -1

Please also check the other post types in that setting such as posts, page, etc. and ensure each of their max-snippet is set to -1.
Hope that helps.
