Hi, I’ve selected Post Title as my SEO Title by default. But It’s showing the Site name after the SEO title, in Search results. Please help me fix the issue. When I don’t have a Site name with the Title, Why RankMath is showing it in search results?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused.

Please share your website URL and the URL of the affected page for the initial troubleshooting.

Please note that search engines decide what to show in search result pages. Search engines like Google sometimes try to adjust the title according to the search intent. Google may choose to display a different meta title for search query results. Google may sometimes ignore the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.

You can check this article for details on this issue: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

Here’s an article you can also check for reference:

I hope that helps and we are here should you have any follow-up questions.

    Thank you.

You’ve mentioned that Search engines like Google sometimes try to adjust the title according to the search intent. But Google does this more with meta descriptions. But I’ve issues with the Title why it’s showing my site name next to the main title?

If I’ve set a wrong default meta tags setting. Please guide me on what to correct so it can show the correct title. I just wanna show the title as my SEO title. No separator, No Site Name.

    Hello again

We have checked with the site: operator and Google and confirmed that some of your pages show the site title while others do not.

Rank Math’s Title and Meta features can help you optimize the titles of all your posts and pages.

Please navigate to Rank Math > Titles & Meta to set the default template for the posts and pages.

Set the Single Page/Post Title box as shown in the image below:

Then you may need to submit your website again to Google.

Following the above steps should fix the issue.

Let us know how it goes in the second ticket.

    Thank you.

Yes, I’ve already selected “Title” only in this setting. But still showing the site name in SERP for posts. Or tell me how can I submit the site again to Google. I’ve already submitted Sitemap to Search console.
    .

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

We’ve also checked your posts, and indeed the sitename is already removed from the title tag.

To ensure that the meta title and description you have set are already applied, you can verify that using these tools:
    https://heymeta.com
    https://rankmath.com/tools/meta-tag-analyzer/

If the data you have entered is already showing, then the best you can do is optimize your meta title and description to try and match the intent of the search/keyword.

You can also refer to these guides to increase the chances that your title and description will show correctly on the search results pages:

    Hope that helps.
