2). This may suggest that there might be some pages that might be accidentally set to no index and not included on the sitemap. Could you please head over to https://your-domain.com/sitemap_index.xml and check if all the right links are listed?
Next, login to your Google search console dashboard and check if there are any coverage errors reported.

Can you point out the duplicate meta description using a screenshot?
