    Greetings,

I have an issue regarding the Meta Description.

When I edit it and save it, its not showing on Google. The meta description that is shown on Google is the old one, i.e. the first sentence of the article. even when I am putting the stars rating for a review article, it is not showing on the search engines.

I need help solving this issue.

  • Hello,

Please check if your actual SEO title matches the one you have set using Rank Math.

You can confirm the same by opening the post and then following this image tutorial

    https://mythemeshop.d.pr/ePhMiA+

Once the source is opened, search for the word <title> and you can confirm if the title is the same as you entered in the plugin.

If it matches as seen in the HTML source code there is nothing to worry about. Google sometimes does not honor your titles and displays them as per their will.

You can go through this post on Google Search Console support section.

Specifically, you might want to check the title Why the search result title might differ from the page's <title> tag

    Hello Micheal,

    Thank you for your reply.

The title is fine, it is exactly as I set it in Rank Math.

My issue is related to the meta description (the 160 characters that are under the title). It is different as the one I set In Rank Math.

Since in write review articles, I need the Stars to be shown and the description as I set it.

In Rank math, the preview is fine however, this doesn’t show on Google.

Thanks for getting back to us.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section as well as some links to the affected pages/posts.

    Hello,

    the following two posts:

    https://affiliateverse.com/super-affiliate-system-3-0-review/

the meta description that i put on rank math includes stars for review, and even the description is different from the one on SERP

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

Rank Math plugin adds the necessary markup for rich snippets. It may take some time before they show up in the search results, please allow a few days for Google to pick up the information.

Google will not necessarily show the rating stars, though, they check a few things first and may choose not to show, for instance, they check the overall quality of the site, and if the review content is representative of the main content of the page or not.

Here is a quote from one of the Google’s help article:

We perform algorithmic and manual quality checks to ensure that structured data meets relevancy standards. In cases where we see structured data that does not comply with these standards, we reserve the right to disable rich snippets for a site in order to maintain a high-quality search experience for our users. Read our webmaster guidelines for more details.

The meta description appear the same way they have been set on the backend when I check your posts. Here is a screenshot:
    Preview

This is how the same post appears on the SERP:
    SERP

The second affected link has not been crawled in a while and the changes should take effect once Google crawls your site:
    Cache data

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
