  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with the meta description of your homepage not displaying correctly on Google.

There are several reasons why Google might not use the meta description you’ve provided:

    • The meta description may not be relevant or useful, or it might lack quality (for example, if it is just a collection of keywords).
    • If the same meta description is used across a large number of pages, Google may choose to ignore it.
    • The meta description might not match what users are searching for, but other content on the page does.

To improve the chances of Google using your specified meta description, consider ensuring that it is unique, relevant, and directly addresses the content of your homepage. You can also refer to this article for more insights on avoiding meta description rewrites.

If you have further questions or need assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you.

The meta description of my homepage, as well as all the others, is not displaying correctly on Google, even though I have properly filled them out using your plugin, following the required SEO criteria.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused.

We checked the source code of your site and can see that you set the max:snippet to 13.

It should be set to -1, to show all the characters in the snippets.

Please navigate to Rank Math SEO > Titles & Meta > Global Meta > Advanced Robots Meta > Snippet and adjust accordingly.

Please do the same on the Pages and Posts Robots Meta if you have configured them specially.

After making those changes give Google a while to recrawl your site and update the information it has on your site. You can use the URL inspection tool to request indexing.

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you !
