Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your meta description not updating in the search engine results pages (SERPs). It’s great to hear that your meta title has been updated, but we understand how important it is for the meta description to reflect your changes as well.
There are several reasons why Google might not be using the meta description you’ve provided:
- Relevance and Quality: If the meta description is not relevant or useful, or if it lacks quality (e.g., just a collection of keywords), Google may choose to ignore it.
- Duplicate Descriptions: If the same meta description is used across multiple pages, Google might not display it.
- Search Intent: Sometimes, the meta description doesn’t match what users are searching for, but other content on the page does, leading Google to select alternative text instead.
- Indexing Delay: If the latest version of your page hasn’t been indexed yet, Google may still be showing an older version of your meta description. You can check this by entering
cache:followed by your page’s URL in the search bar to see when Google last cached your page.

If you find that the cache date is from before you made your changes, you may just need to wait for Google to re-crawl and re-index your page.
Ultimately, even after making these adjustments, Google has the discretion to display different titles and descriptions based on what it believes is more relevant to the search query. Unfortunately, there’s little that can be done to ensure that Google uses your custom meta description.

Google Shows A Different Meta Title/Description For My Site » Rank MathHello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
We checked your page with the
site:operator and we can see Google is showing the correct meta title and description on SERPs:Since Google is showing the correct meta description when searching with the
site:operator that means Google is already aware of the correct metadata of your website. Nowadays, Google does that very commonly. Even when everything is fine, Google may choose to display a different meta description or no description for your search query result. Google may skip the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent. You can follow this URL for details on this issue:
