  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear that you are facing issues with your meta description not showing on Google search results for donaldsonheating.ca.

To address this problem, let’s go through some common reasons why Google might not display the meta description you’ve set:

    1. Relevance and Quality: Ensure that your meta description is relevant, useful, and of high quality. Avoid just using a collection of keywords.
    2. Unique Descriptions: Make sure each page has a unique meta description. Avoid using the exact same meta description across multiple pages.
    3. Search Intent: Check if the meta description matches what users are searching for. Sometimes, Google may choose other content from the page that better matches the search intent.

You can also follow these steps:

    • Check the meta description you’ve set using Rank Math.
    • Ensure your schema settings are valid.
    • Verify the title/description set in the page’s source code.

If you have already checked these aspects and everything seems correct, it’s possible that Google might choose to display a different meta description based on its algorithms.

You can also check if the latest version of your page has been indexed by Google. To do this, enter cache: followed by the full URL of the page into your search bar and check the cache date.

If the issue persists after checking these points, please reply here, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.

    Best regards.

Google Shows A Different Meta Title/Description For My Site » Rank Math

    Hi,

I have done all of this but still the meta description is missing from the search result page.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support and we apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

This is a common issue that many Google users face these days. Google often removes or changes the meta descriptions of the web pages in its search results, regardless of what you have set in your meta tags. Google usually does this when it thinks another description on your page best fits the search intent. For example, looking at the Google cached version of your website, you can see that Google is well aware of your meta description – it is just choosing not to use it.

This affects about 70% of the results and we have a detailed article that explains why this happens and how you can fix it: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/

We also have another article that covers the Google update that introduced this change and how it affects your SEO strategy: https://rankmath.com/google-update/google-title-rewrite-update/

We hope this helps you understand the situation better and resolve the issue. Please feel free to contact us again if you need any further assistance or have any questions. We are always happy to help.

Thank you for choosing Rank Math!

    Hi,

i did all the steps provided on this article and yet our meta description is still not showing on google search page

    Hello,

If you are talking about the homepage which has an empty meta description on SERPs, that can be corrected by setting the max-snippet value to -1 in the robots meta settings of that page.

Those settings can be found on our Rank Math SEO Controls inside the page under the advanced tab.

After that, you need to allow some time for Google to crawl the page and see the updated results.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hi there,

I’ve set the max snippet to -1 already and google already crawled our page but still the meta description is not showing on google search result page

    Hello,

You set the max-snippet value to 1 instead of -1.

Please set the value to -1 and resubmit your page to Google.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation

    Hi There,

I did everything you said, but still our meta description still missing from the search page.

    Hello,

The max-snippet: -1 is already set, so you may need to give Google some time to crawl it and update the search results pages.

In this case, please run your homepage on the URL inspection tool of your GSC account to check and submit request for indexing.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hi,

google already crawled our page, but the problem still there,
maybe there are some workarounds on this and ive been trying to fix it for 3 weeks now

    Dear Support,

The Meta Description that appeared on the google search page is completely different from the one we have set.

    Hello,

In that case, Google is clearly ignoring the meta description you have added. Google sometimes chooses to ignore the custom meta description if it doesn’t align with the user’s search intent. We recommend revising your meta description to better match the keywords and phrases users are searching for.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

    just an update on this.

We changed the first heading on our website and google decided to set that as the meta desc.

    thank you

    Hello,
