I create a “home page” in pages and create a “mag” page for showing posts and I query posts in this page. in settings reading I choose “home page” as home page and “mag” as posts page. now in [moved to the sensitive data section] I can see the canonical and next meta tag. Also the meta robot is like this:
    “<meta name=”robots” content=”follow, index”/>”
But in [moved to the sensitive data section] /page/2/ and more I can’t see canonical, next/prev meta tag. Also the meta robots is like this:
    “<meta name=”robots” content=”follow, noindex”/>”

what is wrong and how can I fix it?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the canonical and meta robots tags on your posts page. It seems that the pagination on your posts page is set to noindex, which is why you are not seeing the canonical and next/prev meta tags on the subsequent pages.

To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:

    1. Check Titles & Meta Settings: Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta. Here, ensure that the settings for your posts are configured correctly. You should set the Robots Meta option for your posts to Index instead of No Index.
      Navigate to Titles & Meta

    2. Pagination Settings: Ensure that pagination settings are correctly configured. You may need to check if there are any specific settings for paginated pages in your theme or any other SEO plugin that might be overriding Rank Math’s settings.

    3. Check for Conflicting Plugins: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with how meta tags are generated. Disable any other SEO-related plugins temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.

    4. Custom Code: If you have added any custom code to your theme or child theme that affects the output of meta tags, review that code to ensure it’s not causing the issue.

    5. Save Changes: After making any changes, don’t forget to click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page to apply your new settings.

Once you have made these adjustments, check your paginated pages again to see if the canonical and next/prev meta tags appear correctly.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We moved your website URL in the sensitive data section which is only visible to you and our support staff.

However, if you want to index your paginated pages, please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Misc Pages, and from there make sure the Noindex Subpages and Noindex Paginated Single Pages options are disabled:

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

Thanks, this saved me a lot of time! I wanted to write some php code to fix this.

    Hello,

    Glad that helped.

Please feel free to reach out to us again in case you need any other assistance.

    We are here to help.

    Thank you.
