Message that I have 2 H1 Headers on Home page but I don’t

On my SEO analyzer within RAnk Math, it states I have two H1 headers, both Heron Pond Hideaway on my home page. The only thing I can think is that it is pulling the name from the footer. Would that also count against the home page? Because it doesn’t seem to affect any of the other pages that it would if that did.

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the SEO analyzer indicating that you have two H1 headers on your homepage. This can sometimes happen if there are multiple elements on the page that are being interpreted as H1 headers.

To resolve this, please check the following:

    1. Inspect Your Page Source: Right-click on your homepage and select "View Page Source" or "Inspect". Look for any “ tags in the code. If you find more than one, that could be the reason for the warning.
    2. Check Footer Content: If your footer contains an H1 tag, it will indeed count against the total number of H1 headers on the page. It’s best practice to have only one H1 header per page, typically used for the main title of the content.
    3. Adjust Your Theme or Page Builder: If you’re using a theme or page builder, ensure that it is not automatically adding an H1 tag in the footer or other sections of your homepage.

If you still cannot identify the issue, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can assist you further. A human agent from our support team will take over and help you resolve this issue.

Thank you for raising this concern!

I misspoke. I actually had already changed the footer title to H4. That is the only other place that “Heron Pond Hideaway” appears, but your data is telling me that both are H1.

Ok, clearing it all out gave me a different result of something else that had the H1 header. I was able to change that, clear it back out again and the issue is gone. Thank you.
