The URLs of the story, main sitemap, and story sitemap are returning a 404 error.
Can you please follow these steps?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:

2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Dint work. Even google stories sitemap is not working. followed your steps but still did not work. I uninstalled makestories and installed google stories.
Enabled the stories sitemap and still the same issue just like makestories.
Your plugin is not able to fetch web stories links. I disable your rankmath site and installed the other Sitemap plugin and it worked.

I checked your sitemap and it seems to be working fine now. Please refer to my screenshot in the Sensitive Data section.
Please clear your website cache and try opening the sitemap again. You may also remove all your sitemaps from your GSC and resubmit only the primary sitemap (sitemap_index.xml).
If the issue persists, kindly apply this filter code to your theme’s functions.php file:
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
