  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the location sitemap not working. To troubleshoot this, please ensure that your location sitemap is correctly configured and accessible. Here are a few steps you can follow:

    1. Validate Your Sitemap: Use the Validate XML Sitemap tool to check if your sitemap is correctly configured.
An example displaying how to validate a sitemap

    2. Check the Sitemap Location: Ensure that your sitemap is located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The URL should look like this: https://yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml.

    3. Flush Permalinks: If you are getting a 404 error, try flushing your permalinks by going to the Permalinks settings in your WordPress dashboard and clicking Save Changes without making any changes.

    4. Check for Errors: If you see any errors when accessing the sitemap, ensure that the XML header is correct:

    5. Clear Cache: If you have caching enabled on your website, clear the cache and try accessing the sitemap again.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hello,

Upon checking your sitemap index, your locations post type sitemap is at this link:
    https://locationevento.it/locations_type-sitemap.xml

    Looking forward to helping you.

No, that’s a taxonomy! I am referring to custom post type (single location)
    For example:

    https://locationevento.it/location/villa-serenita/

    Hello,

The page you shared is set to noindex and those pages won’t appear in the sitemaps. For the pages to appear and the sitemap to be generated the pages need to be set to index and don’t have custom canonical tags.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Yes, those specific pages are set to noindex because they are test locations.

But this sitemap is not working: https://locationevento.it/location-sitemap.xml It doesn’t display a sitemap, it displays a broken page

    Hello,

That sitemap displays that page because there are no location pages from that CPT with the necessary settings to appear on it.

It’s also the reason that the sitemap is not added to the sitemap index because there’s nothing on it due to the reasons we mentioned above.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
