    Hello,

We have stores in few countries, and the website in several languages. I was able to translate almost everything. I have WPML.

How does it work with Local SEO? You ask to enter a lot of information in the Local SEO tab. However, only one language is possible. Will it be displayed correctly if a user searches in Google in the secondary language?

Do I need the pro version for that?

    Kind regards,

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing. When using WPML with Rank Math for Local SEO, it’s important to understand how to manage your local information across multiple languages.

    Local SEO with WPML

Rank Math allows you to set up Local SEO for your website, but it is true that the Local SEO settings are typically configured for one language at a time. Here’s how it works:

    1. Separate Local SEO Settings: For each language version of your site, you will need to enter the Local SEO information separately. This means that if you have a store in multiple countries and languages, you will need to fill out the Local SEO tab for each language version of your site.

    2. Displaying Correctly in Google: When users search in Google using a secondary language, the Local SEO information you have entered for that specific language will be displayed. This is because WPML and Rank Math work together to ensure that the correct localized content is served based on the user’s language preference.

    3. Hreflang Tags: WPML adds hreflang tags to your translated pages, which helps Google understand which version of the page to show based on the user’s language and location.

Do You Need the Pro Version?

While the free version of Rank Math provides many features, the Pro version offers advanced functionalities, including more comprehensive support for Local SEO and additional features that can enhance your multilingual setup. If you want to ensure that your Local SEO settings are fully optimized and adhere to the latest standards, we recommend considering the Pro version.

For more detailed guidance on setting up Local SEO with WPML, you can refer to our documentation or consider our professional setup service available at Rank Math Services. This service requires a PRO subscription and is designed to help users ensure their plugin setup is fully correct.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us.

While Rank Math will help you control SEO titles/descriptions and control a lot of other important SEO settings, the multilingual plugin handles the translation for the metadata.

Please refer to the following guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/multilingual-seo-wpml/#translating-meta.

If you have not already done so, you should consider installing the WPML SEO glue extension:

Let us know how it goes. If you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you. I have WPML SEO as well.

Unfortunately, I cannot find strings related to Local SEO. Could you please help.

    Hello,

The LocalBusiness schema(whose data is sourced from the Local SEO module) is added automatically and dynamically to the frontend of your site’s pages.

Please check a live translated page to confirm that the schema is translated.

    You can test using either:
    https://validator.schema.org/
    https://search.google.com/test/rich-results

If you are unable, you can share the URL of a translated page, and we will check for you.

We look forward to hearing back from you.
