If we understood each other, you suggested that I do Local SEO for a company without a physical location. I put the data from where I write; from home.

What do I put on Business Type?
I have the website in two languages, whose mother tongue is the second language. What do I put on the About Page and Contact Page? The English version (the main one) or the Italian version (it’s a subdomain and not fully translated because I use free Translatepress).

I am currently following this guide.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for the unexpected delays and any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Since your website consists mainly of blogs and other video game-related content, you can stick with “Personal Blog” as your Business Type.

As for the About Page and Contact Page for your Local settings, you can make use of the English translation since this is your website’s primary language.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

I can’t follow the guide on
Google Maps API Key, because this has a different design from how I see it. It looks like the guide is old.

    Hello,

You need to ensure that the Local SEO module is currently activated. Please head over to your WordPress dashboard > Rank Math > Dashboard > Module and you can check there.

If the field still isn’t showing after enabling the module, please do let us know so we can further investigate that.

    Looking forward to helping you.

I can’t follow this link because the procedure to follow is very different.

    Hello,

Please go to this link and click the blue button that says “Go to the Credentials page”, and follow the instructions.

Once you’ve obtained the Google Maps API key, simply head back to the Rank Math dashboard, navigate to the local SEO tab, and paste the API key on the screenshot you have provided.

After you’ve done this, we recommend embedding an interactive map on your about page, or in your footer, to make it easy for visitors, and Google, to find out where you’re based & how they can make their way to your location…

This can alternatively also be done using a page builder like Elementor, Oxygen, or Divi as well as other single-use plugins such as WP Google Maps or Maps Widget.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

I am not convinced about local SEO. I have the feeling that it has nothing to do with what I do. I’m moving on because you say so.
But why should I let people know my location and have me tracked down? If that improves my SEO, that’s fine. But I don’t understand why anyone who has a free online video game website should do all this. In fact, I am stuck on Google Bussiness, because I don’t know what to choose as a profession. There is no blogger or anything like that.

    Hello,

If you don’t have a local business, there is no need to configure the Local SEO settings.

We have mentioned that in the KB as well:

Please disable the Local SEO Module from the Rank Math dashboard.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

it is precisely for that sentence that I was wondering if it made sense. I think I have disabled Local SEO. Thank you.
