Local SEO – a few questions

    Rank Math free

My client’s website is https://uniqwin.co.uk, and we have PRO licenced & installed

    1) following the instructions in https://rankmath.com/kb/local-seo/, it refers to Pro options for 24 hour opening, but I do not see these on my options

My client operates 24/7 so it is relevant.

    2) Business Type: This list does not include a suitable category for my client, but Google My Business does. Can your list be amended?

    3) We wish to use the multiple locations option. However, we already have a ‘locations’ custom post type, which we created in an attempt to address the local SEO issue (created using Toolset) .
I understand that Rankmath allows me to use a different post name, but ideally, I want to combine the two. Do you have any idea whether this is likely to work? I want to make it work.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.

    1) following the instructions in https://rankmath.com/kb/local-seo/, it refers to Pro options for 24 hour opening, but I do not see these on my options

My client operates 24/7 so it is relevant.

If you are referring to the Opening Hours option, this option is hidden if the multiple locations option is enabled. https://rankmath.com/kb/local-seo/#opening-hours

You will need to add the 24hour time slots for each of the days as shown in this example:

    2) Business Type: This list does not include a suitable category for my client, but Google My Business does. Can your list be amended?

You may choose the one that closely describes your company. None of the options on this dropdown have an advantage over the other since they only tell Google the kind of business type that you offer. As long as it closely describes the company, this will still help in ranking your site for a particular local audience.

    3) We wish to use the multiple locations option. However, we already have a ‘locations’ custom post type, which we created in an attempt to address the local SEO issue (created using Toolset).

Using another post type to describe your locations while rank math already has it might cause some issues especially with the sitemap and schema structures – this may or will confuse the search engines. I can only advise that you only stick to 1 set of custom post type for your business locations.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
