Loading some sitemaps ends with an error

    Hey,

We switched to Nginx and since then we get occasional errors in loading the sitemap file, see screen. But only some! I don’t understand why this is happening, we have followed the instructions (server configuration) and the issues listed here on the forum. But when we enter the sitemap again, it loads without any problems. See scree.

Can you advise us where the problem might be?

    Sitempa error

    Sitemap done

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

From your screenshot, the sitemaps with errors are not yet getting crawled.

Once Google crawls them, the “Last read” date column will be updated as well like the ones you shared below.

If there is something wrong with your sub-sitemaps, you can always use this tool to validate them:

    Looking forward to helping you.

They’re fine for a few months and then suddenly they’re not fine, that error message is definitely not normal.

    Hello,

That error is usually shown until Google has had time to process the sitemaps. The fact that adding the sitemap once again fixes the problem also points to the same.

When you submit the sitemaps again Google makes an effort to crawl them and at this time it was able to process all of them.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
