The image shows up when shared on Facebook and Twitter but does not display when the link is shared in LinkedIn.

    The link is

Can someone please help me solve why link sharing on LinkedIn fails to display the image?

    Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please share the affected link so that we can check it on our end? You may insert it in the Sensitive Data section.

Also, please make sure to have the latest version of Rank Math installed.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you

    Hello,

With respect to your query here, LinkedIn uses OpenGraph, the same standard that Facebook uses for pulling the social images and other tags for sharing. I checked your URL with the LinkedIn post inspector tool: https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/https:%2F%2Fwww.ihanalifestyle.com%2Fshop%2Fmonaco-model-aviator-sunglasses%2F and it seems LinkedIn is preferring not to set any of your images.

    See Screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/rRu0QZQ2.

Sometimes LinkedIn does this depending on the size of the image and the Width: Height ratio. The recommended dimensions for the OpenGraph Thumbnails are 1200 x 630 pixels. Here are some articles explaining this.

    https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/46687/making-your-website-shareable-on-linkedin

    https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/open-graph-tags-facebook-twitter-linkedin

Additionally, there are a few reasons for Linkedin (or any other social network) not picking your images and other social tags. We will list them below so you can check which one applies in your case:

    0. You have added the social meta using the Rank Math plugin. https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/#social-meta

    1. First and foremost, you must check the page source of the URL in question.
Search for the og:image tag like in this Video:
    https://i.rankmath.com/aJCccE

If the og:image tag is not found, that means Rank Math is either disabled or not able to print your social tags. Once done checking if Rank Math is enabled, you must check why it isn’t able to print social content by following this troubleshooting guide:

    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Make sure to follow all the instructions carefully.

    2. Assuming the og:image tag was found in step 1, we can proceed to find the issue.

Scenario 1: You are using minification on your website and your cache plugin is inputting too much inline CSS into your page source that your OpenGraph tags are pushed way too down your page’s source:

    https://i.rankmath.com/y4WIgQ

If this is the cache, you must move your inline CSS to a file because most social networks will only look for OpenGraph tags in the first 60kbs of your page’s source. If they don’t find it, they will assume you haven’t added them.
They don’t want to waste their resources crawling huge pages looking for OpenGraph tags.

Scenario 2: The gain browser cache option in most cache plugins like W3 Total Cache is known to not play well with LinkedIn’s OpenGraph detection. If you have it enabled, disable it. The option for W3 Total Cache is at WP > Performance > Browser Cache > HTTP (gzip) compression
    https://i.rankmath.com/BbaiC6

Then, clear your website and server cache (including Cloudflare – if enabled)

Once you are done, you might want to test again here:
    https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/inspect/

You should now see the OpenGraph tags update including the image.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank You.

P.S: Please let us know if you wish for us to remove your URLs from the post once you have seen them.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

I have been through all the steps as mentioned and I am still not able to see the correct image or even the featured image on my homepage!

You have the domain name and you can view the source.

I have meticulously been through every switch and option on your list and in the SG Optimizer plugin. I have removed and reactivated plugins.

The sharing image is till not picked up properly!

    Can you please help?

I have emptied all caches and neither Facebook Inspector nor LinkedIn Inspector are picking up the image.

    The image is:

The image is visible online when accessed directly. Please consider this as urgent! We need this to work!

    Thank you

I am getting the following output from the FB Explorer:

    Curl Timeout
The request to scrape the URL timed out.
    Curl Error
    Curl error: 28 (OPERATION_TIMEOUTED)
    Inferred Property
The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
    Missing Properties
    The following required properties are missing: og:url, og:type, og:title, og:image, og:description, fb:app_id

    Hello,

It seems to be working fine on Facebook now: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ihanalifestyle.com

So whatever change you made seems to have worked.

However, for the LinkedIn issue, we are checking with the dev. team and we will update this ticket when we have a solution to your issue.

When you view the source, the correct image link is displayed in og:image.

You are correct in that it is now working in FB, but the LinkedIn is still not working and I have been through all the points and solutions you provided.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello,

You seem to be using SG optimizer or a similar plugin on your site which seems to be adding a lot of CSS to your page source and in a way pushing all the meta to a single line which goes way long to the right.

Could you please try disabling the optimization/caching plugin temporarily then refresh you page and test the URL here: https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/ to confirm if this is wat is causing the issue?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you
