After using Rank Math, my work efficiency has been greatly improved. The functions are very powerful, but I also encountered some minor problems. For example, the links in my navigation bar cannot be opened on the same tap page. Can you help me solve this problem?

Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the links in your navigation bar not opening on the same tab page. This can often be related to how the links are configured in your website’s HTML or settings within your theme or page builder.
To resolve this issue, please check the following:
- Link Target Attribute: Ensure that the links in your navigation bar do not have the
target="_blank"attribute, as this will cause them to open in a new tab. They should simply beLink Textwithout any target attribute. - Theme Settings: Some themes have settings that control how navigation links behave. Check your theme’s documentation or settings to see if there is an option to change link behavior.
- JavaScript Conflicts: Sometimes, JavaScript from plugins or themes can interfere with link behavior. Try disabling other plugins temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
If these steps do not resolve the problem, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!
Is there any default setting in Rank Math that can fix this problem? I may not be familiar with the settings of Rank Math.
This error only occurs when I disable the Rank Math plugin. I encountered this problem a long time ago. You helped me solve this problem before, but it has been too long now and I have forgotten how to operate it.
Hello,
Please check if you are using the Remove Base option in Rank Math > General Settings > WooCommerce.
Also, you may check the remove category base in Rank Math > General Settings > Links.
You may try to disable/enable them and let us know if the issue was fixed after those attempts.
Looking forward to helping you.
I turned off Remove Base and remove category base in Rank Math, and cleared the cache, but my category pages had 404 errors, and the navigation bar about and contact pages still opened new pages, so I turned this option on again.
Finally, I thought of a way to solve this problem. I found that when I added a custom link as a menu button in the navigation bar, a new page would pop up, but when I added PAGE directly to the navigation bar, no new page would pop up, so now my problem is solved, but I still want to know why this happens. What should I do if I need to add a custom link to the navigation bar in the future?
Hello,
Our plugin doesn’t have any option that can cause internal links to open in a new tab. Your theme might have a function to open the menu links in a new tab. If the issue is fixed after disabling our plugin, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.
