Limit client visibility

    Rank Math free

As a web developer, I have access to a lot of client sites. Is there a way (once I’ve configured RankMath for a client) to lock it so that a client cannot click the drop down to see the other client sites (and potentially attribute the google analytics or search console to the wrong place!)?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing. Currently, Rank Math does not provide a built-in feature to limit client visibility in the way you described. Once a client has access to their Rank Math settings, they can see all connected sites associated with your account.

To manage this, you might consider creating separate Rank Math accounts for each client or using the Client Management dashboard to monitor their sites without giving them direct access to your main account. This way, you can maintain control over the configurations and prevent any accidental changes or visibility of other clients’ sites.

Thank you for raising this concern! If you have further questions or need assistance with anything else, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Disappointing. Thank you for the very quick reply. I encourage you to integrate this enhancement. A lot of other plugins will let you select from a dropdown when you install it and/or do the initial wizard and then once you select a choice it locks that option forever (until you re-login and do the whole process again).

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. We appreciate your feedback.

You’re correct: when using a single Google account across multiple client sites, the dropdown can show all connected properties during setup. However, once the correct site and options are selected and saved, the dropdown becomes inactive unless you intentionally reconnect your Google account. This design helps avoid accidental re-selection or changes by clients.

That said, we completely understand your concern and agree that a visibility lock or restriction feature would be valuable — especially for developers managing multiple clients. We’ve passed this on to our product team as a feature request for future improvements.

In the meantime, for added control, you might consider using separate Google accounts or service accounts per client when authenticating, which helps silo access and avoid any visibility crossover.

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
