Keywords are case sensitive

    Hi
I’ve noticed that keywords are case sensitive> For example:
“Sales and Marketing Strategy” is not treated the same as “sales and marketing strategy”.
AFAIK search engines are case insensitive when it comes to keywords and key phrases.
I also noticed that “and” is not treated the same as “&”. This again is something that Google regards as synonymous.
This is producing lower rank scores and making it difficult to estimate the SEO quality of each page.
Is there a fix or a workaround?

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the delay and any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The focus keywords are not case-sensitive. The “Sales and Marketing Strategy” will be treated the same as “sales and marketing strategy”.

However, ‘&’ and ‘and’ will not be treated as the same as the content analysis checks for the exact characters while running the tests.

Can you please share a screencast or screenshot showing where the focus keyword is being treated as case-sensitive? You can use https://loom.com to record and share a screencast.

    Looking forward to helping you.
