    Hello,

We’re sorry for the unfortunate delay.

I visited your website’s admin area and checked the URLs, but I was unable to replicate the issue.

The wp-admin page has a single trailing slash and so do the other URLs. Also, the URLs not having a trailing slash are automatically redirected to the trailing slash version of the URL.

Please have a look at the screencast in the sensitive data section of this ticket and confirm it on your end.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

This might be some sort of caching issue as you can see in my previous screencast, I was already in an incognito (private) window. The only difference was that I was logged in, which disabled caching.

However, to check this, I tried to login to your website but the login link is again expired. Please extend it for at least a few days so that we can investigate properly.

In the meantime, please clear your website’s cache and any server-side caching applied and see if that fixes the issue.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thank you.

    Hi Pravat

Yes, you are right. After many tests, found that the canonical issue is caused by the swift performance cache plugin. But what I found is,

in the view source of any page:-

    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://www.theholidaystory.com/metcalfe-town-hall-kolkata/&#8221; />

if the tag is already set, is the canonical issue happened? Kindly share your thoughts.

    Thanks

    Hello,

As the canonical tag is properly set, the presence of / in the URL doesn’t matter.

There can be many ways/URLs for reaching the same page.

If you’ll check the source of the page even by removing the / from the URL, you’ll see the canonical tag containing the same URL. What this means is, search engines would easily understand that the URL in the canonical tag is the main source of the content and would not mark it under duplicate content issues.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

That means don’t need to worry about the canonical issue. Thanks for your kind support team.

    Hello,

Yes, since the canonical URL is the same in both the versions (i.e, with / and without), you do not need to worry about the duplicate content issue here.

If there’s anything else that we can assist you with, please let us know.

    Thank you.
