    I have moved from GoDaddy to Verpex the Name servers are pointed at Cloudflare however, I didnt delete the old copy of my website from the GoDaddy server.

    I exported and imported all the content of the old site to a new theme before exporting the site so the new theme is on GoDaddy and Verpex but the Verpex site is more populated than the one on GoDaddy as I stopped working on it.

    When I optimise each listing using rankmath the url is already populated and rankmath says I’ve already used the keyword before. I spoke to GoDaddy and they said to try deactivating the plugin in the site on their server. I did that and then found the plugin had also deactivated on the new server. So I reactivated it on GoDaddy and now its reactivated on Verpex. I checked the keywords and it seems like that issue is now corrected. I would like to delete the old site however, there is clearly something linking the plugin on both sites, so I’m worried if I delete the old website on the old server, that the plugin will be deleted on the server and I will loose all the work I’ve done. Can you help ?

    Could you please confirm with GoDaddy how can they still access your site? Is it a backup site that you still have there? If your domain’s name servers are already at Verpex, your site’s resources should be already pulled from there.

    It is also possible that the site that GoDaddy is using to log in is your actual live site already hosted at Verpex. Please also confirm with them the name servers are already out of the propagation period.

    Hi, I still have access to the site with GoDaddy and yes the propogation is complete with the servers pointed toward Verpex, so I am ready to delete the site from GoDaddys servers but as I say I am worried how this coould affect the site I am populating on Vepex’s server. I’m also noticing my SEO scoring is lower than i would have thought it would be. It might be normal in which case that’s fine i don’t have time to do more than I’m doing but the ratings were higher before so I’m wondering if that is also to do with the connection.

    I logged in to the site via godaddy and it does seem to be showing data from the more recent site on Verpex. It seems like it is behind the site on Verpex and updates are not showing straight away but they are showing.

    What are your thoughts ? Kind regards, Andrew

    Can you check if the database settings for the website are the same on both installations? More specifically if they are using the same database on the same server.

    If the installations seem to be syncing this might explain why the data is being shared across both websites.

    I spoke to my new host and they said it was safe to delete the old site, so I have done that. Do you think that is why Rankmath was saying I had already used the keyword ? and do you think deleting the ghost site could have a beneficial affect on SEO ?

    It’s possible that both websites were trying to access the same pieces of data and syncing each other which would cause this error to trigger.

    Also, deleting the ghost website could be beneficial for your SEO since your content will not be spread across multiple sources but rather will be concentrated in one single place.
