    joeburns.net

My domain joeburns.net had an issue that Sitelock and HostGator say was caused by a Rank Math plugin and they have really not tried to fix the issue. I could not get in my dashboard at joeburns.net/wp-login so I called HostGator. They helped my get in to the pages section of my dashboard and I noticed that I could not get in to see my pages. Also, the Rank Math plugin was completely gone. I was so worried that my pages were all gone but HostGator said I needed to re-install Rank Math. I did that and all my pages came back. I was worried because I worked several days trying to get my SEO score up and all my pages were up at or over 90. After re-installing the Rank Math plugin, I noticed I could not see my pages, I was getting some error. I read as much on google trying to see what would cause that because HostGator had no clue. I found a sentence on one of your forums that said something about when they updated their plugin they had issues. So, I talked with you and you sent me to a page that showed me how to revert to the earlier version 98 something. I restored the previous version and the pages came back. I talked with someone at Rank Math and they said they were working on that and it should work. Anyway, after messing with it forever the bottom line is I have the current version but my pages have inherited this script or something problem that the pages do not go where they are supposed to.
So, I did a check of all my pages and noticed that they were not going to the correct folder or whatever it is they are called. HostGator and Sitelock said that there was a problem with my Plugin.
I do know that when I restored the previous version the pages worked. HostGator did not help. They said I needed to talk to the Rank Math people.

They messed with my File Manager and restored backups and could not make the pages go where they are supposed to. They acted like it was not their problem. They said that something was wrong with my scripts. I do not know. The issue is not complicated so I will paste the pages and you can see that the subdomains or folders, whatever they are called do not go where they are supposed to they are now going back to joeburns.net. That is all HostGator did was get the pages back to my domain from the blank page that was there.
JoeBurns.net works fine except my About, Services, and Contact pages all disappeared. I think that is simple to fix but that is not what is on my mind.
All of the pages are correct and perfect inside my WordPress Elementor Dashboard under the pages section. They are fine and look great with the Rank Math SEO all there.

    Now:
JoeBurns.net works and goes to the correct page (except the missing about, services, contact links.
these subdomains from joeburns.net do not go to their assigned pages. I tried updating my pages inside WordPress Elementor but it did not make the pages go where they are suppose to.

    The pages are as follows:

    ******************************
    joeburns.net
    https://joeburns.net/joes-place
    https://joeburns.net/burns-family-photos
    https://joeburns.net/jack-russell-puppies
    https://joeburns.net/robert-felma-burns
    https://joeburns.net/stolen-browning-rifle
    https://joeburns.net/small-freight-transport/
    https://joeburns.net/about
    https://joeburns.net/services
    https://joeburns.net/contact
    ********************END**************

These pages now go to joeburns.net instead of where they are supposed to go.

If you are able to see these WordPress pages inside my Dashboard these links go to the correct pages.
Or, this is what they are supposed to look like. So, inside my WordPress in Elementor all these pages are there and you can edit, view and update, just like you are suppose to. The problem is when you enter the webpages below, they go back to joeburns.net and not to the assigned location.
Below are the links first and then right below is a link from my “view” website inside my WordPress so you can see what the actual page looks like.

You can see all this inside my WordPress if I can get the sign in to you in the sensitive area below.

HostGator somehow deleted my WordPress backups that were online. I have many backup of my directory, SQL, and email aliases, etc, but unless the current ones that may have the error build in do not have the WordPress Updates and SEO that I worked so hard to do.
I am currently trying to backup WordPress but it has been 3 hours and it is just still working.
The link to where I am trying to backup WordPress is here. It just says, it is running. The database, themes and plugins. I do not know if this backup is different than the backup I have from the HostGator backup page or not.

    https://joeburns.net/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpfm-backup

Once you get inside you can see my pages. I just do not know what to do as to why they are going back to my domain and not the correct place.

HostGator and Sitelock keep saying that the Rank Math plugin created the problem. I think Sitelock deleted the files by mistake when Rank Math messed up and their scanner showed the files as Malware.
    I do not know.
I hope you can restore how my pages are supposed to go.
    Thank you

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked the pages you have shared, but they seem to be working fine, and not redirecting to your homepage. Please refer to the screencast attached in the sensitive data section.

They are also opening fine even if I’m in your WordPress dashboard. Could you please confirm if they are still getting redirected to your domain/homepage?

Meanwhile, please try clearing your browser’s cache or try using a different internet browser.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

    Hello, Reinelle
As I was telling Bhanu in our email that I have been working on this for over a week, as well as other problems that Sitelock and HostGator caused, while trying to fix this problem. I talked with a friend in Ireland that works on websites because I was at the end of my ropes with HostGator and Sitelock.
He looked and said, it is a simple fix, it is the permalinks.
He fixed it in a matter of minutes.
If you are saying they all work, then he knew what Sitelock and HostGator did not know,

During all the work with them trying to repair the problem, they have added several Gigabits of crap to my site. I have to delete things, but I am not sure what to delete.
I see Etc and etc1 as well as old1 and old, in my File Manager and I have to fix all of it.

I thank you so much for trying to fix it in such a short time. I just happened to be talking to my friend in Ireland when he said he will look. Then, he said it was just permalinks.
If you agree, I guess we are finished with this ticket.

Sitelock and HostGator both said that Rank Math caused the problem, I am not sure.
I have not checked since the sites are working, now, but Rank Math’s new version was causing me serious problems. When I restored the previous version the problems stopped. Sitelock and HostGator both are saying that the incident with Rank Math crashing my Dashboard caused the permalink issue.
Can you check to see if the newest update to Rank Math stops you from viewing and adding new, plugins, pages and other issues inside WordPress?
If it is, then the new version of Rank Math is still causing an issue. I updated to the new version but have not checked to see if there were any issues. When I restored the previous version the problems stopped. The permalink issue may have been in there somewhere, I do not know. I do know that I did have a serious issue with the new version.
Try adding new plugins to see if the page will open and check to see if any of my sites have any issue with the new version.
Someone at Rank Math told me of the issue and when I restored the previous version the problem with my pages went away. This Permalink issue started during all of this as well as when Sitelock and HostGator was trying to fix the issues I was having. My two sites have been down 13 times this year for issues inside my WordPress.
If you say all is well I now have to figure out how to delete all the stuff I have seen in my FIle Manager that HostGator and Sitelock put in there from my backups that they wanted as well as them trying to fix my issues.
I hope it is okay now. I really thank you for trying.
If you have any ideas on the extra GB’s in my site as well as why I cannot backup WordPress, let me know.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hello,

I checked the pages and they seem to be loading just fine now even with the latest version of our plugin (1.0.100.1).

Since the issue has now been fixed and we can’t reproduce the issue anymore on our end, kindly test this again on your end and see if there are still some issues to address. If there aren’t any, we can safe to say your friend has fixed the issue.

This might be just a temporary issue that resolves itself.

As for the files in your website directory, if you are not sure what to delete, I suggest avoiding deleting the files as this may break the website. You may contact your hosting provider again and ask them which files or folders to delete that are not useful at the moment to free-up space.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

    Thank you.

    IMPORTANT:

The original issue I explained to Bhanu (Rank Math) <b******@r***********>
was that every once in a while my Rank Math Completely disappears off my Plugins page and all
my SEO work I have done with Rank Math disappears as well.

That is SO annoying. I reinstall the plugin and all my work has come back.
I have never been given an explanation of this.

Well, to day it has done it again.
Inside my HotshotTexas.net dashboard where I am suppose to only have 2 Plugins, Rank Math and Elementor,
my Rank Math is completely gone again. All my SEO is gone again. I do not want to reinstall it untill you have looked at it.
I hope you get this message, this is SO AGRIVATING!!!

    Hello,

Rank Math or any plugin should not disappear from your website when functioning normally. Your website may be compromised and that is causing the issue. Please refer to the following article for more information: https://www.a2hosting.com/kb/installable-applications/optimization-and-configuration/wordpress2/wordpress-plugins/disappearing-wordpress-plugins

If both of your websites are on the same hosting package, the websites may have access to each other’s files/folders. Which could explain why the issue happens for both websites.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

No, that does not help. I know nothing about fixing sites. I have Sitelock and HostGator and both say my site is clean. Sitelock does a scan everyday and says it is clean.
If I knew how to repair this problem I would have already done this.
It is something all the time.
You are the tech, why can’t you fix it. Rank Math is your baby so why do I have to deal with this all the time.

Nigel, I am so tired of having to repair my sites. They are down all the time. This Rank Math problem has happened before and no one has ever mentioned PHP versions.
Today I called HostGator and we upgraded to 7.4 and Rank Math is back. The problem is I have to mess with this site all the time to keep it working. I hate that.
My Yahoo Business websites are 23 years old and not once have they ever been down. I do not understand why I am always having to repair something, all the time.
14 times this year my sites have been down. My KingwoodMoving.com site at Yahoo Business has never been down since 1999

    Hello,

Website technology has been growing in features but also in complexity and as such, they require much more maintenance, such as making sure that the PHP versions are updated to run the latest version of the plugins and WordPress.

Our plugin tries to follow the best standards and that’s why we only support modern PHP versions which include the latest security and feature updates.

You can see the lifecycle of PHP here and at the moment we expect people to start updating to PHP 8 to continue receiving the security updates: https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php

Since the plugin came back after updating the PHP version this is a clear indication that your server was running an older and unsupported version of PHP.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
