Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with your sitemap and the updated URLs. It sounds like there may be a few factors at play here.
-
Sitemap Generation: Rank Math automatically generates a sitemap when the feature is enabled. However, if you have recently changed your URL slugs, it may take some time for the sitemap to reflect those changes. You can manually regenerate the sitemap by going to Rank Math SEO → Sitemap Settings and ensuring everything is set up correctly.
-
Permalink Structure: After changing your URL slugs, make sure to refresh your permalink settings. You can do this by going to Settings → Permalinks in your WordPress dashboard and simply clicking the Save Changes button without making any changes. This can help flush out any old URLs.
-
Submitting the Sitemap: Once your sitemap is updated, ensure that you submit the new sitemap URL to Google Search Console. The sitemap index is typically located at https://yourdomainname/sitemap_index.xml. Submitting this will help Google crawl your updated pages more efficiently.
-
Check for Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins can interfere with how Rank Math generates the sitemap. You might want to check for any plugin conflicts using the Health Check plugin.
If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
