    Hello RankMath Support Team,

I am experiencing an issue with the structured data markup for FAQs on my website. I use Elementor to build my pages and RankMath to handle the structured data.

I have noticed that the answers to the FAQ questions are including HTML tags instead of just plain text. This is affecting how the structured data is displayed in search results.

Currently, I have RankMath configured to handle the FAQ schema on my pages, but I cannot find an option to automatically strip HTML tags from the content. I am attaching a screenshot that shows how the FAQs are configured on my site.

Could you please provide me with a suitable solution to ensure that the FAQ content is included in the structured data without HTML tags? I would also appreciate any guidance on how to correctly handle such situations with RankMath and Elementor.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the structured data markup for FAQs on your website. It seems that the answers to the FAQ questions are including HTML tags instead of plain text, affecting how the structured data is displayed in search results.

To resolve this issue and ensure that the FAQ content is included in the structured data without HTML tags, you can follow these steps:

    1. Using Rank Math’s Content AI: If you are using Rank Math’s Content AI feature, you can write FAQs with just one click. Click on the AI icon in the FAQ block and let Content AI generate the answers for you. This will help in generating plain text answers without HTML tags.

    2. Manually Remove HTML Tags: If you prefer to manually remove HTML tags from the FAQ answers, you can do so by editing the FAQ content in the Elementor editor. Simply remove any HTML tags from the answers to ensure they appear as plain text.

    3. Check Schema Markup: After making changes, ensure to check the schema markup using the Google Structured Data Testing Tool to verify that the FAQ content is now displayed correctly without HTML tags.

If you continue to face issues or need further assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you promptly.

Thank you for reaching out with your concern.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We checked the page and we can confirm the FAQ schema is not added by the Rank Math plugin. Please check the screenshot in the sensitive data section for reference.

All the Schema from our plugin goes inside a script tag with the class rank-math-schema-pro. The current FAQ schema on your page is directly added by the Elementor plugin, not by Rank Math.

It looks like you’re using Elemntor toggles to add the FAQs but the option to add the FAQ schema from Rank Math only appears when you use the Accordion option from Elementor. For more details, you can check this URL: https://rankmath.com/kb/faq-schema-elementor/#elementor-accordion

In this case, you can disable the FAQ schema option from Elementor Toggle settings and then you can manually add the FAQ schema from the Rank Math SEO Meta box Schema tab: https://rankmath.com/kb/faq-schema-block/#schema-generator

However, it looks like you’re currently using the Rank Math PRO plugin on your website, but the account you have used to open this ticket is the Rank Math free version.

Can you please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com so we can locate your account and verify it?

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
