    Hi Rank Math Support,

I am currently in the process of rebuilding my website and I exported the Rank Math configuration from my old site and imported it into the new one. However, I noticed that the Redirections module did not import the data properly, and the Redirections section is not functioning as expected. I am unable to manually add any new redirections.

Upon checking the debug.log, I found the following error message:
    [28-Jul-2025 09:33:31 UTC] WordPress database error Table 'database_name.wp_rank_math_redirections' doesn't exist for query SELECT * FROM wp_rank_math_redirections WHERE status = 'active' ORDER BY updated DESC made by require('wp-blog-header.php'), wp, WP->main, do_action_ref_array('wp'), WP_Hook->do_action, WP_Hook->apply_filters, RankMath\Redirections\Redirections->do_redirection, RankMath\Redirections\Redirector->__construct, RankMath\Redirections\Redirector->flow, RankMath\Redirections\Redirector->everything, RankMath\Redirections\DB::match_redirections, RankMath\Redirections\DB::match_redirections, RankMath\Admin\Database\Query_Builder->get, RankMath\Admin\Database\Query_Builder->get_results, RankMath\Admin\Database\Query_Builder->run

Upon further investigation, I noticed that the new website’s database does not have the wp_rank_math_redirections wp_rank_math_redirections_cache tables.

Could you please advise me on how to resolve this issue and restore the Redirections functionality? Should I manually create these tables, or just copy the tables from the old site database?

Thank you in advance for your support.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Redirections module after importing your Rank Math configuration. It seems that the missing database tables are causing the functionality to break.

To resolve this issue, you can recreate the missing tables by following these steps:

    1. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Status & Tools in your WordPress dashboard.
    2. Click on Database Tools. If you do not see this option, please ensure that you have enabled Advanced Mode at the top-right area of the screen.
      Navigate to Database Tools
    3. Once in Database Tools, click on Re-create Missing Database Tables.
      Re-create Missing Database Tables

This should create the necessary tables, including wp_rank_math_redirections and wp_rank_math_redirections_cache, and restore the Redirections functionality.

If you continue to experience issues after this step, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope this helps resolve your issue!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math Support and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Please note that this issue is likely occurring because the Rank Math redirection tables were not created during the plugin installation or migration process. Specifically, the missing tables wp_rank_math_redirections and wp_rank_math_redirections_cache are essential for the module to function correctly.

Please navigate to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools. Locate the option “Create Missing Database Tables” and click the “Create Tables” button. This will automatically recreate any required Rank Math tables that are missing from your database.

Make sure you do not manually create or copy the database tables from the old site, as doing so may result in data mismatch or corruption due to different site IDs, table prefixes, or serialized values.

Once the tables are successfully recreated, revisit the Rank Math > Redirections section and check if you can now view and add redirections.

If you still have your redirection data exported from the previous site, you can re import it using the Rank Math > Import & Export > Redirections option.

I hope this helps. If you still have any questions or need assistance during the setup process, just reply here and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
