Issue with redirect.

My forum page url at one time said guitarpcb.com/members but it is supposed to say guitarpcb.com/community instead.

When using redirect I am imputing just community/$1 but when i add the redirect it puts the full url instead that looks like https://guitarpcb.com/community/$1

This causes it not to work.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the redirect. It seems like the destination URL is being incorrectly formatted, which is causing the full URL to be added instead of just the path you want.

To fix this, ensure that when you set up the redirect in Rank Math, you are using the correct format. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Source URL: This should be the URL you want to redirect from. For example, if you want to redirect from guitarpcb.com/members, you would enter:

      /members
    2. Destination URL: This should be the new path you want to redirect to. Since you want it to go to /community, you should enter:

      /community

Make sure not to include the full URL in the destination field; just use the path starting with a /. This way, it should correctly redirect to `https://destinationurl.com/https://destinationurl.com/actual-url/ without duplicating the domain.

This is the full method I was attempting to use to fix the problem.

    Source URL: /members/(.*)
    Target URL: /community/$1

I attempted to use what you said without wildcars which I would assume that I need but it still does not work and it still keeps adding the full url in the destination block automatically upon activating it

    Hello,

Please ensure that you have selected the Regex redirect type like in this image

    regex

Once done, clear your website and server’s cache for troubleshooting.
