    Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with the meta description display on Google for my WordPress site using the Divi theme and the Rank Math plugin.

    Issue Details:
Modifications in Rank Math: I have properly modified the SEO title and description in Rank Math using the classic editor.
Schema Settings: I have verified that the title and description in the Schema tab of Rank Math display %seo_title% and %seo_description% respectively.
Source Code: I have checked the page’s source code, and the titles and descriptions are correctly defined.
    Problem:
Despite these verifications, Google continues to display text from the page instead of the defined meta description. I have also waited for Google to reindex my page, but the issue persists.

Could you please assist me in resolving this issue and advise if there are any other configurations or solutions I could try?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the meta description display on Google. Thank you for providing detailed information about the steps you’ve already taken.

It’s important to note that even after setting the correct meta title and description, Google may choose to display different text from your page for various reasons. Here are a few additional steps you can consider:

    1. Check if the Latest Version of Your Page Has Been Indexed: Sometimes, Google may not have indexed the latest version of your page. You can request indexing through Google Search Console to expedite this process.

    2. Review Content Quality: Ensure that the content on your page is relevant and high-quality. Google may opt to show snippets that it believes are more relevant to the user’s search query.

    3. Avoid Duplicate Meta Descriptions: Make sure that there are no duplicate meta descriptions across your site, as this can confuse search engines.

    4. Monitor Changes: After making any changes, give it some time for Google to re-crawl and re-index your page. It can take a few days to weeks for changes to reflect in search results.

    5. Use Structured Data: Ensure that your structured data is correctly implemented, as this can influence how your page appears in search results.

If you have checked all these aspects and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope to resolve this issue for you soon!

    Hello,

You can also verify the title and description of your page by using these tools to ensure that they are already set:

If they are already set in the page’s source code, please note that Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and shows something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.
