Issue with Homepage Metadata Display After Activating Rank Math Plugin

#955153
  • I am experiencing an issue with my website after activating the Rank Math plugin. Once the plugin is activated, the homepage metadata appears publicly at the top of the heading on the homepage, but this does not occur on any other pages. When I deactivate the plugin, the metadata is no longer visible, as expected.

Could you please help me resolve this issue? I would appreciate any guidance on how to fix this behavior.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the homepage metadata display after activating the Rank Math plugin. This behavior could be caused by a conflict with your theme or another plugin that might be adding the same meta tags, leading to them being displayed incorrectly.

To troubleshoot this issue, we recommend the following steps:

    1. Check Your Theme: Sometimes, themes can add their own meta tags. You can check if your theme is responsible by temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Twenty-One) and see if the issue persists.

    2. Disable Other Plugins: Deactivate all other plugins except for Rank Math to see if one of them is causing the conflict. If the issue resolves, reactivate each plugin one by one to identify the culprit.

    3. Use Health Check & Troubleshooting Plugin: This plugin can help you identify if a specific theme or plugin is causing the issue without affecting your site’s visitors. You can install it from the WordPress Dashboard under Plugins > Add New. Once installed, enable troubleshooting mode and activate only Rank Math to see if the problem continues.

      Enable Troubleshooting Mode

    4. Check for Duplicate Meta Tags: If you suspect duplicate meta tags, you can refer to our guide on how to fix duplicate meta tags for more detailed instructions.

If after trying these steps the issue still persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will take over and provide further assistance.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

    Hello,

Could you please confirm if you have applied any filters on your site?

We have asked since this usually happens when a filter/code is added incorrectly, that’s why it is showing at the top of your website.

You may also share the affected URL so we can check as well.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you for your response!

Not applied any filters on websites.

    Hello,

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We need to troubleshoot this deeper. Can you also share your website’s FTP login in the Sensitive Data section of this ticket?

Also, if you can share your website’s database panel login, it would be helpful for us to track down the origin of this unwanted meta code.

    Looking forward to helping you.
