    Dear Rank Math Support Team,

I am facing an issue where Google is displaying my homepage URL https://apkwinkk.com in search results instead of the actual post URL. The post itself is accessible and functions correctly when visited directly, but Google continues to index and show the homepage in search results.

    Steps I Have Taken:
Submitted my sitemap in Google Search Console.
Used the URL Inspection Tool in Search Console, which still shows the homepage as indexed instead of the correct post.
    Refreshed permalinks in WordPress settings.
Despite these efforts, the issue persists. Could you please help me understand why this is happening and provide guidance on how to resolve it?

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with Google indexing your homepage instead of the actual post URL. Thank you for providing detailed information about the steps you’ve already taken.

Here are a few suggestions to help resolve this issue:

    1. Check for Duplicate Content: Ensure that there is no duplicate content on your homepage and the posts. If Google sees similar content across multiple pages, it may prioritize the homepage. You can use canonical tags to indicate the preferred version of a page. Rank Math makes it easy to change the canonical URL if needed.

    2. Request Google to Reindex Your Post: After ensuring that your post is properly set up, you can request Google to reindex your post. Go to Google Search Console, enter the post URL in the inspection tool, and click on REQUEST INDEXING.
      Click Request Indexing

    3. Submit Your Sitemap Again: Sometimes resubmitting your sitemap can help. Make sure your sitemap is up-to-date and includes all relevant posts. You can find your sitemap at `https://rankmath.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Navigate-to-Your-homepage-displays.png.

    4. Check for Manual Actions: In Google Search Console, check the Manual Actions report to see if there are any penalties affecting your site. If there are issues, follow Google’s guidelines to resolve them.

    5. Improve Internal Linking: Ensure that your posts are well-linked within your site. This helps Google discover and index them more effectively.
