We are experiencing an issue with schema markup on our website. Currently, both Article and Organization schema are being generated for the same page, causing confusion for Google.

We want to use the Organization schema for our local business, but the Article schema keeps appearing as well. Can you please help us understand why both are being generated, and guide us on how to resolve this issue?

We are currently using the free version of Rank Math. Should we upgrade to Rank Math Pro to resolve this, or is there another way to fix it in the free version?

    Looking forward to your help!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the duplicate schema markup on your website. It can indeed be confusing for search engines when multiple schema types are present on the same page.

Why Both Article and Organization Schema Are Generated

Rank Math automatically generates schema markup based on the content and settings of your posts or pages. If both Article and Organization schema are being generated, it could be due to:

    • Default settings: Rank Math may be set to automatically add Article schema to all posts or pages.
    • Manual settings: If you have manually added Article schema in addition to the Organization schema, this could lead to duplication.

    How to Resolve the Issue

To resolve this issue, you can follow these steps:

    1. Remove Duplicate Schema: You can remove the Article schema from the specific page where you want only the Organization schema. This can be done by editing the schema settings for that page in Rank Math.
      • You can refer to this guide on removing schema for detailed instructions.
    2. Use Schema Generator: After removing the Article schema, you can add the Organization schema using the Schema Generator in Rank Math to ensure it is correctly implemented.
    3. Check Global Settings: Ensure that your global settings in Rank Math do not automatically apply Article schema to all posts/pages unless intended.

    Upgrading to Rank Math Pro

Upgrading to Rank Math Pro is not necessary to resolve this issue. The free version should suffice for managing your schema markup effectively. However, if you find that you need more advanced features in the future, you might consider upgrading.
