Hello, Rank Math Team,
I’m experiencing an issue with how my website is displayed in Google search results. Instead of showing the correct article titles, Google is displaying my site description as the page title in search results.
Here’s a breakdown of the issue:
Website URL: [Your website URL]
Example Article URL: [Provide an example URL]
I’ve already set custom title tags for each page using Rank Math and verified these settings in the page source. The issue persists even after resubmitting the sitemap to Google Search Console.Could you please help me understand why this might be happening and how to fix it? I’d like Google to display the correct article titles instead of using the site description.
Thank you for your assistance!

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.
You can verify the title and description of your page by using these tools to ensure that they are already set:
https://heymeta.com
https://rankmath.com/tools/meta-tag-analyzer/If the title is already set in the page’s source code, please note that Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and shows something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.
Here’s a link for more information:

Kindly, can I provide logins so that you can help me set it well?
Hello,
Sure, you can add the affected URL/s and you website login details to the sensitive data section by editing your first post
It is completely secure, and only our support staff has access to that section.
Looking forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
We checked each website and their affected posts and we can confirm Rank Math is correctly generating the title and description meta you’ve entered from the backend. Here’s an example although the post hasn’t been indexed yet: [See video screencast in the Sensitive Data section of this ticket].
If you see differently from your end, then it all comes down to Google selectively choosing the content to ensure the most relevant information is served for the search intent. https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/
Hope that helps.
