Issue with Arrays in Custom Schema Builder (e.g. “alumniOf” not working)

    Dear Rank Math Support Team,

we’re currently experiencing an issue with the Custom Schema Builder regarding arrays. Specifically, we’re unable to generate array structures properly – even when adding multiple entries manually, only the last one is retained in the rendered schema.

For example, when trying to define an array using the alumniOf property, each new value seems to overwrite the previous one, instead of being added as part of an array. We’ve encountered the same behavior across other properties as well.

It seems that the Schema Builder either doesn’t recognize or output the array structure correctly.

Could you please let us know:

Whether arrays are currently supported in the Custom Schema Builder?

If yes, how should we configure them properly?

If not, is there a recommended workaround?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards,
    Valeska

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Custom Schema Builder regarding arrays. Thank you for raising this concern.

Currently, the Custom Schema Builder in Rank Math does support arrays, but it requires specific steps to ensure that multiple entries are added correctly without overwriting previous values. Here’s how you can configure them properly:

    1. Open the Custom Schema Builder: Navigate to the Schema Generator and select the Custom Schema tab.

    2. Add Property Group: When adding properties, make sure to create a property group for your array. You can do this by clicking on Add Property Group.

    3. Define Array Structure: When defining properties like alumniOf, ensure that you are nesting them correctly within the property group. Each entry should be added as a separate property within the same group, and you can duplicate the property group for additional entries.

    4. Save Your Changes: After adding all necessary entries, make sure to save your schema for the post.
