Is sitemap being submitted correctly

Hi, I hope you are keeping safe

I just submitted my RankMath generated sitemap to Google, however, I am not sure if I submitted it correctly. I submitted the following https://tradingdispatch.com/sitemap_index.xml. In search console under the total discovered urls it retuns 0 urls returned but rather each sitemap type only has urls within that category. Does this mean I have submitted it incorrectly?

    Thanks

When importing my site to Bing it also is returning a sitemap count of 0 (as shown in this screenshot)

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Yes, you only have to add the sitemap_index.xml file. I think you might have that zero due to search engines don’t crawl the site immediately (and less if your site is new since you have less crawl budget). I would recommend to wait a few days and then check it again.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Perfect thanks for your help

On another note how can I ensure that my separators are configured correctly because after doing a Google search I noticed that my home page has the “:” separator instead of the “-” which I set on RankMath

    How can I fix this?

    Thanks

    Hello,

If in the Rank Math settings you have set up the right separators, everything should be fine. If you changed it recently, you might need to wait a few days until Google updates with the changes. If you did it a few days ago and it still has the old separators, do note that if everything’s fine and Google still decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores it and show the separator it thinks that match the search intent better.

You can read more about it here

This section sheds light on that:

Why the search result title might differ from the page's <title> tag

Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
