internal outlink 301 to author page

    Hello,

    After running SEO check program I get a warning that my posts are giving an internal outlink 301 to author page.

    The author page is displayed after every post and this is what I like.
    But I believe this should not render a 301 redirect.

    Can you please let me have your opinion? Should this 301 be undone? And if so, how?

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. Iā€™m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    I’ve checked some of your posts, and indeed the author URL is redirecting to your homepage which should redirect to the author URL.

    In this case, head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Authors and enable the Author archives option:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/titles-and-meta/#author-archives

    Once done, check again the author URL if they are opening fine.

    Just for your info I am single author and read in standard instructions it should NOT be enabled.

    But if you say to have it enabled I will do so. Can you please re-confirm just to be sure šŸ˜‰

    If enabling I assume to set it to no-index?

    Hello,

    Google recommends including author URL to your Article Schema. Rank Math adds the author URL to Article Schema automatically if the author archives are enabled. If you prefer adding the author URL to Article Schema, head over to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Authors > Author Archives as suggest by my colleague.

    Enabling author archive would mean setting it to “index” and Google can crawl the Author URL as well.
