  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Instant Indexing feature. The error message "404 Requested entity was not found" typically indicates that the URL you are trying to index does not exist or is not accessible at the time of the request.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:

    1. Check the URL: Ensure that the URL you are trying to index is correct and that the page is live and accessible. You can try visiting the URL directly in your browser to confirm.
    2. Server Response: Make sure your server is not returning a 404 error for that URL. If it is, you may need to check your website’s settings or any redirection rules that might be affecting it.
    3. API Key Configuration: Double-check that your Google JSON Key is correctly set up in the Rank Math plugin. If there are any issues with the API key, it could lead to errors when trying to submit URLs for indexing.
    4. Re-submit the URL: Sometimes, simply re-submitting the URL can resolve temporary issues.

If you continue to experience problems, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so that a human agent from our support team can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern, and we’re here to help!

    Hello,

That error means the URL was still not processed by the Indexing API from Google. It’s important to note that the requirements for that have changed and now the URLs go through rigorous spam detection.

Besides that, the guidelines now state that this is exclusive to a particular set of websites, so if your website doesn’t fall under that category or is considered spammy the submission will go through but the API will never parse the URLs.

You can check the full guidelines here: https://developers.google.com/search/apis/indexing-api/v3/quickstart

    Looking forward to helping you.

You mean now instant indexing not working for news website? Any way to notify google immediately after post publish?

    Hello,

If you’re using Rank Math PRO, then you can use the News Sitemap feature as Rank Math automatically includes the posts published in the last 2 days:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/news-sitemap/

However, please note that using the News Sitemap and our Instant Indexing doesn’t guarantee indexing on SERP right away. This depends on several factors, such as your post frequency and the quality of your content.

    Looking forward to helping you.

can you please clarify me now instant indexing will not work for news website?

    Hello,

According to Google guideline, the Instant Indexing API is only for two types of websites (job posting and live streams). So, unless you have one of the website types we mentioned and the content is unique, you won’t be able to use this consistently and you shouldn’t even if it is a news website.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.
