Hi, When creating my API project, under my google search console, i did not have the option to manage property owners, the only option is for ownership verification details. I had to use the “Blue ” add user, and I am getting a 403 Permission denied. Failed to verify the URL ownership error in Rank math. I was able to select the Indexnow: submit url , successfully. How can I get around this 403 permission denied error?

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the 403 Permission Denied error in Rank Math. This error typically indicates that Googlebot was denied access to a page on your website, which can be due to various reasons such as incorrect file permissions, firewall settings, or issues with your .htaccess file.

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

    1. Check File Permissions: Ensure that the files and directories on your server have the correct permissions set to allow access.
    2. Review Firewall Settings: Make sure that your firewall rules are configured to allow Googlebot access to your site.
    3. Inspect .htaccess File: Check your .htaccess file for any rules that might be blocking access to Googlebot and correct any issues found.
    4. Check for IP Address Blocking: Ensure that Googlebot’s IP addresses are not being blocked by your server settings.

If you continue to experience issues after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket with your site URL so we can assist you further. A human agent from our support team will take over and provide more specific guidance based on your situation.

Thank you for raising this concern!

    Hi
    Not Working

    Error 404
    Requested entity was not found.

    Hello,

That error means the URL was still not processed by the Indexing API from Google. It’s important to note that the requirements for that have changed and now the URLs go through rigorous spam detection.

Besides that, the guidelines now state that this is exclusive to a particular set of websites, so if your website doesn’t fall under that category or is considered spammy the submission will go through but the API will never parse the URLs.

You can check the full guidelines here: https://developers.google.com/search/apis/indexing-api/v3/quickstart
