The Instant Indexing is not working for our site MakingSenseofSecurity.com. API Key Location:
Use the Check Key button to verify that the key is accessible for search engines. Clicking on it should open the key file in your browser and show the API key. It does NOT open to the txt file as it should. It redirects to our homepage.
    Posts are not getting indexed.
    Please help.
    What do you suggest?

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Can you please try Changing API Key to see if that fixes the issue for you? You can find the settings by heading over to Rank Math > Instant Indexing > IndexNow API settings > API Key > Change key.

If the issue persists, try Manually updating the API Key to see if that helps.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We have updated the Instant Indexing API key. We did previously as well. We are still being directed to our homepage http://www.makingsenseofsecurity.com and still not able to index new posts.

    Please advise any suggestions.

    Thank you

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

The redirection happens since the txt file is returning a 404 error, and the fallback behavior in your Rank Math > General Settings > Redirection is set to your homepage:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/general-settings/#fallback-behaviour

If the txt file is getting 404, then you may need to get in touch with your web host to ensure that the .txt file is accessible in your website’s root directory.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Nevermind. I fixed it. It was the Settings for Redirects. I reset it to default and now the txt file is appearing as it should. Also, the Instant Index is now submitting my posts properly.
    All set.
    Have a good week.
