My pages are not working with Instant Index- I keep getting the message Error submitting page to IndexNow
-
Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with the Instant Indexing feature. If you are receiving an error message stating "Error submitting page to IndexNow," it could be due to several reasons. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this issue:
-
Check Your Rank Math Version: Ensure that you are using Rank Math version 1.0.81 or above, as earlier versions may have different functionalities regarding the Instant Indexing module.
-
Enable the Instant Indexing Module: Make sure that the Instant Indexing module is enabled in your Rank Math settings. You can do this by navigating to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO and checking the modules.
-
API Key Configuration: If you have recently set up the IndexNow feature, ensure that the API key is correctly configured and accessible. You can find more information on how to set this up in our IndexNow documentation.
-
Check for Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins or themes may conflict with Rank Math. Try deactivating other plugins temporarily to see if the issue persists.
-
Server Configuration: Ensure that your server allows outgoing connections, as this is necessary for Rank Math to communicate with the IndexNow API.
If you have tried these steps and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

Hi
The reply is 429
Please let me know what else you need
Thank you
DaniHello,
The error 429 in your IndexNow API means that the IP address exceeded the daily quota of requests and you should slow down a little bit and retry later.
Sending too many requests usually causes this error.
To control that in your Instant Indexing settings by deselecting CPTs which automatically submiting many URLs upon update or creation:
Looking forward to helping you with this one.
Hello- I have changed it to only do posts and pages and I am still getting this error- Error submitting page to IndexNow.I am getting the same error code. Please help
Thank youHello,
Can you please confirm if you have other websites on the same server or are on shared hosting? If so, then there’s a possibility that other websites may be using up the quota.
Just to make sure this is not something with our plugin, please try using the plugin that Bing created for this purpose (https://wordpress.org/plugins/indexnow/) on the website, and if that is also failing, we can be sure it’s not only related to our plugin but with the submission on your website.
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
Hi again
Sorry for the delay. I was trying another angle but it does seem to be something with your plug in. Please let me know what the next step should beThank you
Hello,
Did you attempt using Bing’s Indexnow plugin and that worked correctly?
If it did and this issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
We tested this issue on your website and we can see that the original IndexNow plugin from Mircosoft Bing is also failing. This shows that something outside of the two plugins is causing the issue.
The issue is most likely coming from or related to your host, server, or website IP. We can see that you’re using a shared hosting with lyricalhost.com. We’d suggest reaching out to them for additional help with this.
We have more info on this error here: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-fix-429-error-with-indexnow-api/
We hope this helps clarify the issue. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
