thanks i already have a sitemap since day 1 through rank math app. do i need to update it or the rank math app updates it automatically?

Rank Math can automatically ping Google whenever you update your sitemap. To do that, you’ll have to connect your Google Search Console account in Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and enable the Ping Search Engines option from Rank Math > Sitemap Settings > General: https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/#ping-search-engines

Thanks i already had the ping enabled. What is this option for? (Include Featured Images
Include the Featured Image too, even if it does not appear directly in the post content.)

We’re assuming that you’re re referring this option:
The option, when enabled, would allow the Feature Image to be also included in the image section of the sitemap, i.e. the image count. By default, we could count the images in the actual post content, but when this option is enabled, we’ll also count the featured image.
