    Hi,

My client’s website isn’t indexing properly. When googling the name of the site the first link that appears doesn’t send the user to the home page, but to a page that was deleted months ago.

This problem also appears with other pages as well, the permalinks are bugged and I get this weird string of text being duplicated.

    thanks, dylan

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I checked your website and I was able to see the 404 page from the Google Search page. It seems Google is still indexing the cache version of your website as you can see in my screenshots here:

    https://i.rankmath.com/RqHQ7x
    https://i.rankmath.com/FuQT2X

As you can see, Google is still indexing the page since last month.

This can only mean that Google doesn’t want to recrawl your site yet because it hasn’t allocated that much crawl budget to your website.

You may give it some time for Google to recrawl your entire site and those 404 pages should be removed from the SERP.

I get this weird string of text being duplicated.

Could you please share some examples of this specific issue?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

The url for the services page “https://screamingbirds.com.au/https-screamingbirds-com-au-our-services/”

I’ve edited this permalink multiple times to make it a single word like the rest of the pages. How can I fix this?

Is there a way to clear the cache to make the site crawlable faster?

    thanks

    Hello,

I’ve checked the URL, and it seems that you have put the whole website name in the permalink section. You should only put the slug there like this to fix the URL:

    Slug fix

Clearing your website’s cache would not be enough for Google to crawl your site. I would recommend resubmitting your sitemap to your Google Search Console account for Google to recrawl your site.

Here’s a link for more information:

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.
