Indexing Problem

Sir I am truly worried and unsure of how to resolve an issue I’ve been experiencing with the Instant Indexing plugin. When I try to submit URLs, I receive no response. After contacting your support team, I was informed that this is due to a 429 Too Many Requests error. However, I only submit 1 or 2 articles per day, so I am certain that I am not sending too many requests to Google.

I was advised to contact my hosting provider, as the issue might be related to other websites sharing the same IP, which is common on shared hosting. I followed this advice and contacted my hosting provider, but they informed me that they use autoscaling cloud servers where multiple servers share the same IP and that they do not offer dedicated IP addresses. They then directed me back to your support team, and now I feel stuck.

Rank Math support says the issue is with my hosting provider, and my hosting provider says it’s not their issue. I don’t know where to go, and I feel helpless. I’ve tried everything I can, including testing the Bing Instant Indexing plugin, which worked once, but then the issue returned.

Could you please help me further with this? I am really worried and would appreciate any guidance you can provide to resolve this situation.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Instant Indexing plugin and the confusion regarding the 429 Too Many Requests error. It can indeed be frustrating when both your hosting provider and support teams point to each other.

The 429 error indicates that your IP address has sent too many requests to the IndexNow API within a short period. Even if you are only submitting 1 or 2 articles per day, if other websites on the same server are also making requests, it can contribute to exceeding the quota.

Here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve this issue:

    1. Deselect Auto-Submission: Temporarily disable the automatic submission feature in Rank Math. You can do this by navigating to Rank Math SEO → Instant Indexing → Settings in your WordPress dashboard. In the Auto-Submit Post Types setting, click the Select / Deselect All button until the Posts, Media, and Pages options are unchecked. This will prevent automatic submissions while you troubleshoot the issue.
Deselect auto-submission in the Instant Indexing Settings

    2. Change Your API Key: If you haven’t already, consider changing your API key for the IndexNow API. After changing it, make sure to save your changes and clear your website cache. This might help in refreshing your connection to the API.
Change your API key and Save

    3. Wait Before Resubmitting: After making these changes, wait for a few hours before attempting to submit any URLs again. This will give the system time to reset.

    4. Contact Your Hosting Provider Again: Since your hosting provider mentioned that they use autoscaling cloud servers, it might be worth asking them if they can monitor the requests coming from your shared IP or if they can provide any insights into whether other sites are causing excessive requests.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further. We understand how important this is for you, and we’re here to help you through it.

Thank you for your patience, and we hope to resolve this issue for you soon!
