    Hi,
According to Google Search Console, 8 posts of mine are not being indexed. I have checked this article https://rankmath.com/kb/error-submitted-url-marked-noindex/ and followed the steps on it.
On the posts that are not indexed, I checked whether URLs Have Been Marked As ‘NoIndex’ and they weren’t.
I also checked Rank Math’s Titles & Meta Settings and Global settings are set to ‘index’

This is the error I get in Google Search Console

What can I do about this, please? Thanks!

    Hello,

Please refer to Google’s guidelines for images: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/guidelines/google-images

The general message from the Google image guidelines use the optimum quality images placed close text related to the message of the image, and have high quality content and a high quality website.

I hope that clears things up. If you have questions, ask away. We are here to help.

    Hello,

Adding to my colleague’s reply, those seem like the links of attachment pages.

WordPress automatically created attachment pages for each attachment that you add to the website. However, these attachment pages are thin content and we recommend redirecting them to the posts they’re used in.

Enabling the Redirect Attachments option and setting the attachment pages as noindex by following the steps mentioned by my colleague would indicate to Google that you do not wish to get the attachment pages indexed and eventually the pages would be removed from the search results.

This will not affect the images being indexed on Google Images. It’s just that the attachment pages of those images would be removed.

Please note that it can take time for Google to remove the attachment pages but eventually, they would be removed.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your message.

I followed the steps indicated by your colleague but I still don´t see my images in the sitemap. I have more than 300 images in each of my 2 subsites. How can I get all my images on the sitemaps, please?

See video in Sensitive Data please.

    Thanks!!

    Hello,

The Attachment sitemap was created only for the Attachment pages and not for the actual images. Since the attachment sitemap was enabled and the pages were set to index, the attachment pages were getting indexed.

We do not create separate sitemaps for images, rather, we attach them with the posts/pages they’re used in. We do this so that the search engines can relate the images with the post/page itself.

The images are already present on your sitemaps. Please have a look at the screencasts in the sensitive data section of this ticket.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

    Oh I see!

Thank you very much for explaining.
In this case, the last question is:
What is better to get images in Google images, to have the images as I have them now? or by creating an attachment sitemap (and no indexing the pages, as I really don´t want these thin attachment pages to appear on the SERP).

    Thank you so much!!!!!

    Hello,

I would recommend continuing your current setup with your attachments as disabled/redirected. Aside from them being thin pages with minimal content, they will also share in your crawl budget for your website.

Here’s a link for more information:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/should-you-redirect-attachments/

Including the images on your post/page sitemap would be enough for Google or SERPs to see and index the images on your website.

    I hope that helps.

Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.
