Increased Ahrafs crawl speed

I increased Ahrafs crawl speed but got issues. What if Search console does the same and only sees errors? That would explain why it removed all urls from rankings but the urls remain indexed. It also doesn’t see urls from the last few months.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issues you are facing with Ahrefs and Google Search Console. It sounds like you are experiencing some challenges with crawl speed and indexing.

When you increase the crawl speed, it can sometimes lead to errors if the server cannot handle the increased load, which might affect how search engines perceive your site. If Google Search Console is encountering errors during its crawl, it may lead to URLs being removed from rankings while still remaining indexed.

To address this, consider the following steps:

    1. Check for Errors: Use the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console to identify any specific errors that may be occurring on your pages.
    2. Evaluate Site Quality: Ensure that your site meets quality standards. If there are many low-quality pages or thin content, it could impact indexing.
    3. Adjust Crawl Settings: If your server is struggling with the increased crawl rate, consider reducing it back to a more manageable level.
    4. Content Audit: Conduct a content audit to identify and improve any outdated or low-value content on your site.
    5. Use Instant Indexing: You can also use Rank Math’s Instant Indexing feature to help inform search engines about your pages more quickly.

If you continue to experience issues, we recommend replying to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Based on the errors in your screenshot, it appears these are server-related issues, so we recommend contacting your hosting provider to resolve them.

Additionally, while increasing crawl speed in Ahrefs can impact performance, Google Search Console manages crawl behavior independently. The URLs not being ranked could be due to temporary server issues or other factors affecting Google’s ability to crawl them.

Please ensure your server is optimized and functioning correctly to avoid further issues.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
