Unfortunately, we have not yet tested the NextGen gallery with Rank Math. However, the FooGallery plugin is compatible with Rank Math so you can include the images from the gallery in Rank Math sitemaps.

As mentioned by my colleague, we haven’t tested the NextGen plugin.
Please note that Rank Math only generates sitemaps from the list of standard posts types including custom post types. If you wish to add a custom sitemap with NextGen content in it, you may follow this guide below: https://rankmath.com/kb/custom-sitemaps/

thanks for your reply. The custom sitemap could be the way to get the image listed in the sitemap.
Could you tell me if it is possible to use wildcards for the images?
E.g. adding a whole directory with images?
I am asking because adding 3000 images line by line in the custom sitemap is a hell of a work.

unfortunately that does not work.
I guess I have to live whith this and hope that search engines will index the images based on the given url in the source code of the post which holds the gallery.
Anyway thanks for ypur help and if you have another idea it would be welcomed.
