Hello,
Thank you for contacting the support and bringing your concern to our attention.
Rank Math doesn’t modify or process images as we only focus on the SEO of the website. You would need to look for a plugin that might support converting your images.
Additionally, if you convert all images including open graph images, this may cause issues to social media platforms as they don’t support SVG files.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Thanks for the info. Do you know if there is any plugin that allows me to go to each image from the media and just click a button to get it converted to SVG?
Hello,
Unfortunately, I don’t have any knowledge with regards to any plugin that supports that kind of future. I tried searching in the WordPress repository and I haven’t found any.
By default, WordPress won’t allow SVG files to be uploaded. You would need to apply this code in the wp-config.php so you can upload SVG’s to your website:
define( 'WP_SVG_FOR_EVERYONE', true );
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
Thanks, yes I cannot find any either. So maybe good idea for Rank Math to look at doing something like this in the future since faster loading pages does help with SEO. Also does Rank Math free version have a way for me to see which image needs resizing and to which size and also which image format needs to be changed to SVG?
Hello,
Unfortunately, we don’t access the file size and the format of the images, we only provide automation of alt/title attribute for images that are rendered on your website.
There are plugins that are dedicated to image optimization such as Shortpixel or Smush. Please refer to this guide: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-image-optimizer-plugins-compared/
However, the list I shared doesn’t mention anything about optimizing SVG.
Hope this helps you with your situation. Looking forward to helping you.
